Prescheduled emails

Hello there, I have scheduled auto emails to send out to ALL my email subscribers. However, I am getting new subs every day. Will the new subs also get the \email even though the scheduling was set before they were a subscriber??

This depends on which app you’re using for sending the emails. Some email marketing apps have this type of email design.

I am using the standard “email” app that is available on shopify. I don’t believe this one was installed by me.

Shopify Email doesn’t have a built-in feature to automatically send emails to new subscribers. However, there are a couple of ways to manage this effectively:

  • Time-Limited Emails (e.g. Summer Sale): For emails that are only valid for a specific period, you can use Shopify’s customer segmentation feature. Add the new subscribers to a segment and manually send the email to that segment. This allows you to control when the email is sent.
  • Scheduled Emails (e.g. New Subscriber Discount): If the email is meant to be sent to new subscribers on an ongoing basis, you can leverage Shopify Flow to automate the process. Shopify Flow will automatically send the email to every new subscriber as they join your store.

Hi Im speaking about automations. They absolutely do have auto emails. They
are pre set when you get shopify and customize them. They are things such
as abandoned cart, browse etc. I am just wanting to know if I schedule them
and get new subscribers days after will the new subscribers be captured if
the email has not been sent yet?

If a customer subscribed before you set up the email automation such as a welcome email in Shopify Email, they will not receive the welcome email. The welcome email is typically triggered only for new subscribers who sign up after the automation is activated. You can set up this kind of workflow in Shopify Flow as well. It all depends on the trigger.

If you want to send a welcome email to your existing subscribers, you can manually send a campaign to those who subscribed before the automation was set up

For abandoned cart/checkout emails in Shopify, the automation works a bit differently. If a customer abandons their cart, Shopify can automatically send them an email to remind them about the items they left behind, regardless of when they subscribed to your newsletter(this is a settings in Shopify Admin). This means that even customers who subscribed before you set up the abandoned cart email automation will receive these reminders if they abandon their cart.

What about for newsletters that were scheduled?
