I would like to find an app that I can allow customers to upload an image (png or any similar) and see how it should look like on the personalized item that they order. For instance their own image on a cup, or on a t-shirt.

Hopefully it’s not too late — but you might want to check out Easify Product Options. It’s a no-code app that makes it super easy to let customers upload images (PNG, JPG, etc.) and see a live preview of how their design will look on your products like cups or t-shirts.
You can set it up in just a few minutes without touching any code. Here’s how it works:
To show the customer file upload right on the shirt in real time, simply go to Product Personalizer and click Enable Live Preview like this:
