Printify Sold Out Bug

Topic summary

Users are experiencing a widespread bug where products published from Printify to Shopify incorrectly display as “sold out” despite showing as in-stock and published on Printify. Multiple store owners report this issue affecting some or all of their products, with no clear pattern.

Attempted Solutions:

  • Adjusting the “stocked at” setting by temporarily removing Printify, saving, and reverting back
  • Deleting the Printful app (one user reported this helped)
  • Working workaround: Enable “track quantity” for all variants, set “Printify - Available” to 1, save, then disable “track quantity” and save again (requires two saves)

Key Concerns:

  • Users report poor support from Printify with no live help and slow email responses
  • The workaround may show items as in-stock when actually out-of-stock on Printify
  • Multiple users considering switching to alternative POD providers (Gelato, Printful)
  • Support responses have been dismissive, with one user disconnected after questioning the issue

Status: The issue remains unresolved by Printify, though the bulk edit workaround provides temporary relief.

Hi @SleeperDeals

Many people have been experiencing this error recently, suggesting a potential integration issue between Shopify and Printify.
The temporary solution I’ve found requires adjusting the product’s “stocked at” setting. First, I remove Printify, save the changes and refresh the product page. Once the item shows as in stock, I revert the “stocked at” setting back to Printify.
I hope the information provided proves useful to you

i dont see the option “stocked at” where do i find this?

Well with printify its not tracked at any location for me?

this is what it looks like

Also having the same issue. Help! Created 4 products the exact same way through Printify, 2 are working fine and the other two are saying sold out. Two of the products in question were both t-shirts with almost the exact same design, one worked, one didn’t? What am I missing?

I am having the same issue - have been in contact w Shopify and w Printify - its a Printify issue and THE HAVE ZERO live help additionally all email communication keeps coming back it wont be in a timely manner and its an issue on their end - I wish I never listed all my products with them and went w Gelato or Printful - Printify is AWFUL!

ive been waiting for 2 days with supports help my first one is active with no issues and all my other listings are saying sold out when connecting to live suppport i was greeted with " are you sure your seeing “sold out” thats only on your end; did you set your store up correctly? when asking for more help twas disconnected

Im now looking into other POD companies to switch to because this is an issue that clearly is effecting so many people and paying for a level of service through Printify and zero live help or solutions and stopping shop owners from selling products is ridiculous. This was my last response I received from them

ive been looking into the same its just annoying to switch everything over after spending so much time getting it set up. they let every user down with little to no care. they ruined if not destroyed multiple buisnesses and yet they have no real nor active support.

It wasn’t just the Printify app, for me after i deleted the Prinfull-app it worked again

I found a solution!

It’s dumb, but here goes:

  1. go to your product page, select all the variants and click ‘bulk edit’

  2. add the ‘track quantity’ flag to the table (columns button, upper right)

  3. check the ‘track quantity’ box (enable tracking)

  4. set “Printify - Available” value to 1

  5. Save

  6. uncheck the ‘track quantity’ box (disable tracking)

  7. Save again

YOU HAVE TO SAVE TWICE!

Not ideal, but it worked for me!

Thanks - this worked for me but it’s a worrying bug. It also can potentially show items as in-stock, when they are out of stock on Printify… Curious if anyone has found a better solution since this was initially reported?
