I run a Phomemo Thermal Printer to print my labels but I need to jump through some hoops just to get them to the printer.
Because Shopify does not have a App that generalizes printing 6x4 to a Thermal Printer. I have to download the Packing and Shipping label to my phone/computer and then go into my Thermal Printers app to have to print it.
Also, for the packing label you have to recode it in the customization under Shipping to even have Shopify recognize it. There should just be an toggle in the packing slip category to either do it Letter or Thermal so you can switch between the two easily without having to go to create label Shipping screen.
Thanks for sharing the challenges you’re facing with label printing. This is a known concern that we’ve certainly heard before. Right now we don’t have another option besides printing the packing slip directly from your browser.
For the second part of your question, I’m not entirely sure that I understand what you’re saying in terms of recoding it. Can you elaborate a little bit more?
Under Shipping - Packing Slip Customization I have to recode the html/css to have it in a 6x4 format as the standard is 8.5x11 .
I know when you create a label snd then go to print the packing slip the option is there but not right from Order viewing screen.
In the Personalize/Customer packing slip area or just in the shipping area you should be able to choose for Thermal or Letter packing slip then be able to customize which ever one you picked
