We are looking for an app to create an internal knowledgebase out of. Something that will help move our documentation for policies, processes/procedures, and general documents into an easy to access place within Shopify for any of our employees with a Shopify login. It should not be customer facing. Ideally, it would also be able to link to customer profiles. Use cases would be for policies (obviously), job role documentation, processes for things like cleaning duties, and for things like local customer XYZ is not allowed to do preorders due to prior issues, with the customer name hyperlinking to their profile. All should be visible only to employees. Bonus if some documents can be hidden to everyone except specific employees.
I’ve searched the app store and am only finding customer facing knowledgebase systems, nothing internal. The Shopify file system is just a file repository, requiring downloading the files to view and edit them. So mostly useless there. No method to make a formal structure there, no way to pin documents, etc.
Anyone know if an app exists that can do some or all of what I ask?
Cheers!
Hey! same question here. Have you found a solution? Care to share what did you end up using?
We never did find one. We ended up just using Google Drive through our Google Workspace account. It is functional, though a proper KB app would have been preferred. You can’t really assign tasks easily through Google Drive like you can with a KB app, nor flag items as needing an update and have it alert the author and others assigned to that article. But you can set up a tree-like structure and assign people roles on what they can view and what they can edit still. Google Workspace costs something like $7 an employee, so it’s a reasonable cost and comes with a ton of other benefits. Just doesn’t tie into Shopify in any manner.
Rock on, thanks! I almost certainly will try it out.
Cheers!
Edit: This was a reply to ResourceHub.
Good morning. I got a chance to install the app and try it out. It doesn’t look like this is a knowledgebase app that works for us. The documentation we have for our workflows, policies, and procedures changes occasionally, and requires staff to go in and update the documents at those times. It appears that your app doesn’t allow editing of documents. Just storage of them, which means staff have to download the document to a computer, edit it using software there, then upload the new version and delete the old version.
If you ever plan on adding that functionality where we can create documentation within the app and edit it on the fly as needed, we’ll definitely sign up for a paid plan.
Cheers!

I will check it out. Thanks!
