Main issue: On product pages, certain variant combinations (Alu print, Posters, Canvas) appear unavailable with no price, and a French label before price in the Dawn 1.0 grid is mistranslated.
Context: All variants were bulk-edited with prices and high stock (1000) and “continue selling” enabled; store URL shared.
Root cause found: When switching from framed products to non-framed types, the color selector remains on “black,” leading to invalid combinations. Validity varies: Wooden framed posters support multiple colors; Metal framed posters only black; other types (Poster, Printing on aluminum plate, Cloth) have no color. Customers need the color to auto-switch to “no color (–)” for non-framed types.
Requested behavior: Automatically reset color to “no color (–)” when a non-framed product type is chosen.
Proposed solution: Use an options app (Easify Product Options) to replace Shopify variants with option sets and conditional logic (show color only for framed posters; optionally add extra prices per selection). Screenshots were provided to illustrate setup.
Cost/scale: Apply one option set to all products (~300 designs). Free tier works if no price differences; Pro is required for price add-ons.
Status: No built-in/free Dawn fix confirmed; app-based approach suggested; translation issue remains unresolved.
Hi everybody, I’m struggling with my variant and didn’t find a way to solve the problem …
I’m selling framed posters, posters, alu print and canvas and when I go to my product page, I’m not able to add the alu print, posters and canvas in my cart because they are not available and I don’t see the price either.
I changed the stock of my product, every product have 1000 item in stock, and I put " sell if there is no stock " also.
If someone could help me It will be so appreciate.
I have trouble with the grid product of the template Dawn 1.0 as well, The word in french before the price is not translate well and I would like to change it.
Thank you so much to take the time and read my post, sorry for my english it’s my second language
When creating variants for your products, it’s important to set specific prices and quantities for each variant. Missing prices can result in incorrect display on your product pages, while missing quantities can lead to variants appearing as out of stock, preventing customers from adding them to their shopping carts.
While there could be other causes for the issues you’re experiencing, it’s crucial to ensure that all variant prices and quantities are properly set.
Therefore, you should double-check that the prices and quantities of your variants are correctly configured to address these issues .
Hi @EasifyApps-Zoe , All of my variant have prices, I used bulk editor to do it, and all of them have 1000 product at least in stock, I will share a screenshot from it.
I’d like to clarify some details regarding your product options. Are all the product options (Alu print, Poster, Framed poster, Canvas) available for all colors?
The issue you mentioned about “staying on the black color” seems to be related to a default selected option rather than a problem.
Only "Wooden framed posters" are available with all Styles.
Metal framed posters are only available in black.
Other product types such as Posters, Cloth, and Printing on aluminum plates are unavailable in all styles.
If possible, please share a screenshot of how you are setting your variant quantities.
Additionally, I would like to understand your Inventory management approach. Does your actual inventory depend on size, product types (Alu print, posters, framed posters, canvas), and style?
Or do you not maintain available inventory and only produce actual products when orders are placed?
Provide specific details about your case so that I can suggest the best solution .
Hello @EasifyApps-Zoe Thank you a lot for your time and your answer, I’m not english speaker and beginner in shopify so sometime I’m struggling to explain my problem but I will do my best
As you Observe
Only "Wooden framed posters" are available with all Styles.
Metal framed posters are only available in black.
Other product types such as Posters,Printing on aluminum plates are available but only on no color frame, the button like this one ( - )
Its a print on demand so my product are always available,
I have a design decline in different size and style ( alu print, canvas, posters, framed posters )
I’m not able to upload a screenshot .png on the forum …
I would like that when my client clicks on a size and then clicks on a style other than framed posters, the color button automatically switches to the no color ( - ) button, so my client sees the product available.
thank you again for your time, I hope you will understand my broker english
Although I’m not entirely certain if this suggestion will fulfill all your requirements, I encourage you to give it a try and see if it suits your store’s needs.
Instead of creating custom product options during the initial product setup, I recommend using the Easify Product Options app to handle all your options.
Here’s a quick demonstration of how you can set it up :
Create your product without including any product variants, such as Size, Product, or Style.
Add an option for customers to choose a Size using the Buttons option type (or any of the other 25 available option types). You can also include extra prices for different sizes, if necessary.
Add an option for customers to choose a Product type using the Buttons option type. Similarly, you can assign different extra prices for each product type.
Add an option for customers to choose the Style (Color) after they select the Wooden framed poster option. Utilize the Buttons option type and the Conditional Logic feature to display these color options for wooden framed posters only.
Similarly, add an option for customers to choose the Style (Color) after selecting Metal framed posters. Use the Buttons option type and Conditional Logic feature to show the color option (Black) specifically for metal framed posters.
For other product types like Poster, Printing on aluminum plate, and Cloth, which do not require style/color options, you don’t need to add a Style option.
Hi @EasifyApps-Zoe , thank you for the app proposition, but I’m looking for a free way to solve this problem.
Can you do bulk edition with Easy product app option ? because I have almost 300 different design ?
Regarding pricing for each option value, if you don’t require different prices for each of them, you can use the Free version of the app to set up as I suggested.
However, if you need to set different prices for each option value, such as adding $30 for the selection of “Wooden framed poster”, $20 for the selection of “Metal framed poster”, $10 for the selection of “Poster”, and so on, then you will need to leverage the Price add-ons feature available in the Pro version of the Easify Product Options app. This feature allows you to accurately assign a unique price/ add-on price to each option value.
