Problem showing Images when Importing CSV file to combine products as variants of a single product

Hello,

I’m new to Shopify, and I’m on a Macbook Pro. I have about 8 products from Printful - same Pattern, but different Colors. I would like to combine these 8 into a single Shopify Product, and I’m using Excel for this.

I exported the CSV from Shopify, imported it into Excel, modified the Handles, Titles, Option2 Name, Values. I have attached a Screengrab of a relevant portion of the Excel sheet. Each Color has 4 Mockup images.

I find that when I look at the new Product on the store, it shows all the images, of all the Mockups.

I want it such that if a user clicks on the “Brown” button in the “Color” variant option, only Brown Products will be shown. I have attached a screengrab of the store showing this problem.

I would appreciate your suggestions on how to change my CSV file.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Rajnesh

Hi, @dromalpalli !

Welcome to Shopify Community.

Thanks for reaching out to our network and sharing your question. For starters, since you are using a third-party fulfillment service, Printful, it’s important to not make product changes via CSV as you could potentially break the connection.

As such, I highly recommend consulting with the Printful team first before making further changes. That way, they can recommend the best approach to meeting your needs in a way that keeps the products successfully synced.

Connect with the App’s Developer directly or email them at support@printful.com.

Make sure to follow-up with us and share Printful’s guidance for any future readers that come across this thread.

Warm regards,

Hello Olivia,

Thank you for your reply. Printful asked me to contact Shopify, so here is the issue:

I have 4 images per variant Color of let’s say a print-all-over T-Shirt. The pattern/design is the same for all, but the background color is different.

What is Shopify’s best way to list this product?

Thanks,

Rajnesh

Thanks for the reply, @dromalpalli .

Since this is still a Printful product, make sure to set it up within the app in the way you want it to appear on your storefront. For example, you can set up one product with multiple variants, or multiple products with just one variant.

However you create it on Printful, is how it will appear on Shopify. With that being said, I don’t think there is one way that is better than the other - it really comes down to your individual preference and the needs of your business.

Speaking from my own perspective, if I had a store with few products then I might create separate products for each option and vice versa. I invite other business owners to share their expertise in this product market as well for any insight they have to offer. Make sure to share any other questions you have about launching or growing your business on Shopify with us too!

Please let me know if I have missed anything.

Warm regards,
