Problem with Automatic Discounts

Hi There,

Quick one. Wanted to set up an automatic discount whereby when you purchase above $60, 2 applicable items would be able to be purchased at a discounted price.

So here are a few SS of the input data, tell me if im doing anything wrong as they do not apply to the order.

Order above $60, Get “Handmade Card” [email removed] $2 off and “Sweet Treat Packs” [email removed] $10 off.

So yeah, saved them and all. When i did a test purchase, the discount just were not applied

You would have to set up the discount rules in your store’s discount section. To set this up, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Shopify admin and click on “Discounts”.
  2. Click on “Create discount”.
  3. Enter the discount code (if any) and the discount type. You’ll want to choose “Order-level discount”.
  4. In the “Discount value” field, enter the amount of discount you want to offer for each item.
  5. Under “Eligibility”, set the minimum order amount to $60.
  6. In the “Target products” section, select the “Handmade Card” and “Sweet Treat Packs” products.
  7. Click “Save”.

This will set up the discount you described and it will automatically apply to orders that meet the eligibility criteria.

Thanks so much for the reply.

I need it to be an automatic discount and I don’t get the “Order - Level Discount” section to choose.

As can be seen in my screenshot, those are the only fields I have to use and according to the logic in the summary i should be able to purchase the items in the “Applies to” section for the discounted amount as long as my purchase is above $60.

Well, all the items on my website are $60 and more, so as long as I purchase an item, these 2 items in the screenshot should be discounted. But when I do a test run, they discounts just do not apply where it be in the cart / checkout section.

Please let me know if you need any more info. Thanks for the helping hand.

In order to set up an automatic discount based on the order amount, you will need to use the “Discounts” section in Shopify. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to “Discounts” in the Shopify Admin.
  2. Click on “Create discount”.
  3. Select “Order-level discount”.
  4. Set the discount conditions (minimum purchase amount, customer eligibility, etc.).
  5. Select the items to apply the discount to.
  6. Set the discount amount.
  7. Save the discount.
