My store does not load when I click on its link it gives me the following error.
Hi, @Luisma
I understand you are seeing an error message when you attempt to go to your store’s URL. There is no attachment here I can see, can you give me some more information as to what this contains?
If this is a third-party domain, and you have only just connected it, it can take some time to propagate.
I am going to write out here on how to connect your domain, can you let me know if you have followed this process? If there is a part within you find any difficulty with please do let me know.
To connect and verify your domain you can follow this guide here. The steps required are as follows:
Change your DNS records in your third-party domain provider account1. On your domain provider’s website, log in to your account.
- Find the DNS settings or domain management area.
- Change the following records:
- Point the A record to the Shopify IP address
23.227.38.65. - If necessary, change the Host name to the
@symbol. - Delete any other A records on the domain if there are any present.
- Point the CNAME record with the name www to
shops.myshopify.com.
- Point the A record to the Shopify IP address
- Save your changes.
Once the above is done, it can take up to 24 hours for them to propagate and be detectable from Shopify. In the meantime, your .myshopify.com domain will be useable and will remain your primary domain.
Connect your domain to Shopify1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains.
- Click Connect existing domain.
- Enter your domain, such as
johns-apparel.info, and then click Next. - To confirm that your domain is connected to your Shopify store, click Verify connection.
It might take up to 48 hours for your domain to be verified. After it’s verified, your domain is listed in the THIRD-PARTY DOMAINS section of the Domains page with the status Connected.
Lastly, once done, you change your primary domain so that your newly connected domain will present to your customer, not your .myshopify.com URL.
Steps:1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains.
-
Click the domain that you want to make the primary domain.
-
Click Set as primary.
After you change your primary domain, the new primary domain is displayed to customers who visit your online store.
Let me know once you have this checked through and what this specific error message reads as, and I would be happy to help out further.
Can you tell me a bit about your store? I would love to hear more about your business and how your experience with Shopify has been going so far.
This is the error message displayed on my page. I purchased this domain within Shopify and it is connected to my online store.

Thanks for the update, Luisma! I still do not see the attachments, can you describe the error for me, please?
When it comes to domains bought through Shopify there are rarely errors that are caused through setup. I would need to know what is going on here specifically to do with the error you see when you go to your store. Could you also share your website URL so I can check it out? Thanks so much!
