Problems with updating Cybersource

Topic summary

Merchants are experiencing critical issues updating their Cybersource payment integration on Shopify before the July 7, 2025 deadline.

Primary Problems:

  • Update button leads to error messages stating “You are not accepting payments with Cybersource”
  • Clicking “Manage account” results in a “page cannot be found” error at ebc2.cybersource.com
  • After successful updates, merchants report immediate transaction failures and duplicate authorization attempts
  • Previously working credit cards fail with the new version but succeed when reverting to the old version

Support Response:

  • Both Shopify and Cybersource support teams are pointing fingers at each other
  • One merchant suspects Shopify may be intentionally pushing users toward Shopify Payments

Current Status:

  • One user resolved their issue through their payment provider (CX Pay) contacting Cybersource directly, though specific details of the fix remain unclear
  • Multiple merchants report their stores are effectively non-functional for over a week
  • At least one user reports Cybersource is no longer listed as a payment provider option

Resolution: Unresolved for most participants; deadline approaching rapidly.

Hello,

We have Cybersource as our payment provider on our Shopify account. In our dashboard, under Payments, we received the following message:
‘This version of CyberSource won’t be able to process payments after July 7, 2025. To continue processing credit card payments, update to the latest version’.

When clicking Update the message appears:
‘You are not accepting payments with Cybersource. Finish setting up your account with this provider to start accepting payments’, by clicking ‘Manage account’.

When clicking ‘Manage account’ the message appears:
‘This page at ebc2.cybersource.com cannot be found’.

So there is a problem. Can you figure out what the problem is? Any help is welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Peggy

We utilize Cybersource and last week updated our application per the message above. We’ve had nothing but issues with product orders since the update. I suspect they may have taken down the update as they troubleshoot.

We have had the same issues and every time we update Cybersource we start seeing failed transactions. Then when we go back to the previous version those same credit cards work. 7/7 is right around the corner, has anyone figured this out? I have contacted support from both Shopify and Cybersource multiple times and they continually say it is an issue with the other party. These feels like Shopify funneling us to their Shopify Payments offering.

Hello @MarkNev ,

The issue has been resolved. It was indeed with CyberSource, not Shopify. So I would recommend contacting CyberSource and asking if all the information is correct.

Sorry, ask if which info is correct? And when was it resolved? We had issues last week and I communicated with both support teams this morning receiving no answers.

The problem was solved last week by intervention of my provider CX Pay. CX Pay contacted CyberSource. I do not know exactly which information was incorrect.

Okay, thank you.

We updated our Cybersource app on 9/8 and we immediately started having issues. customers get an error message right away upon authorization attempt. If an employee places the order in backend they get the error, but then a minute later another attempt goes through behind the scenes as if the app is sending 2 requests. I am in talks with Cybersource support but the shop is pretty much dead for a week already.

Cybersource isn’t working and isn’t listed as a payment provider now. What have you done to resolve this issue? :frowning:
