Product Admin changes for Winter 2024 - I suggest you take a look!

I just watched the Winter Edition '24 video. It looks like big changes.

Our store just received an email 2/27 asking our opinion in a survey…which we could not access. They won’t

like it

I am hoping that these updates will NOT be a global change to all Shopify store owners.

Please offer an option to stay on the current product process.

We do not have our own brand, we sell many vendors products, who have many different ways of sizing their

products and each one seems to be different. It looks like a lot of the changes are going to follow recent update
design of breaking all things out into little segments and having to ‘click’ dozens of times to get the same thing

we get done now from just a few screens.

These new updates look like they will take much more time to do. This is not good.

Along with the simple coding 101 rules that should be inherited on all screens like:

  • having the cursor sitting at the first editable field on the screen

  • being able to tab from field to field

  • typing in a field with drop-down lists and have a type-ahead filter

  • being able to modify column widths

..and on and on and on

…don’t burden the Shopify app by adding significant amounts of time to the things we should be spending

the least amount of time on. And please do not promote the use of the bulk editor any more than you do. The
new editor is cumbersome, take too many clicks and is too easy to make errors, especially in editing tags. I used

to be able to fly through this editor, adjust things so I could easily edit by just using my keyboard. Now I only use to update prices. Everything else is just too inflexible to work with. Thank you for letting me get on my soapbox.

I am hoping it will be an option to stay on the product edit version we are already on and not be forced to go

to this new one. Let each user ease into it if they want. This does not seem like something that will benefit us.
