Product Configurator with a Dependency Relationship to Options Chosen?

Hi, I’ve been looking though a lot of product configurator or product dependency apps but not managed to find what I’m looking for; the nearest I have found is agencies who have done custom builds.

I have a selection of products which can be bought as kits or with an installation service added on - but the installation service available depends upon the option chosen. The volume of items makes it not really viable to list them as separate products whilst keeping it user-friendly.

For instance I have products like below

BASE PRODUCT (A)
˪ CONFIGURATION OPTION (B1)
˪ CONFIGURATION OPTION (B2)
˪ CONFIGURATION OPTION (B3)

OPTIONAL INSTALLATION CHOICES

˪ INSTALLATION OPTION (C1) - Only Offered if Configuration Option (B1) is selected above

˪ INSTALLATION OPTION (C2) - Only Offered if Configuration Option (B2 or B3) is selected above

Ideally I want to retain the individual product SKUs on the order so that parts and labour charges can be processed by our backend automatically; rather than having to start manually processing BOMs from individual “product bundle” SKUs and also so that prices for the component parts can be updated easily if one changes

I’ve seen bundle extensions that offer add ons at cart but I can’t seem to find anything with clearly displayed range of options to choose as a drop-down or radio button; whilst only offering the installation options that are relevant to the configuration option chosen.

Hopefully I’m making sense here as to what I’m looking for?
If anyone knows of anything along these lines that is already in existence, any pointers gratefully received. Or is it niche enough a functionality that would require a custom build?

Hmm…can’t remember that username but I’m the OP

I ended up using Simple Bundles & Kits
https://apps.shopify.com/simple-bundles

It enabled me to put together all the suitable combinations using 2 or 3 variants in Shopify but then make each option a bundle of the component products, with stock and pricing managed on an individual SKU level, and the orders in Shopify broken down into the component parts (basically a bill of materials for each option)

It was a bit of work but less hassle than investigating custom builds
