Product data, inventory & order sync for multiple stores

I have a project involving one source store and multiple destination stores. The ideal setup would include:

  1. A one-way sync for product data (including meta fields, selected by tags) and inventory (across multiple locations) from the source store to the destination stores.
  2. A two-way sync for orders (including shipping details), with orders tagged with the name of the destination store.

The goal is to manage all product data and orders in one store, using the destination stores solely as “storefronts”. I have tested a few apps and reviewed the documentation for others I’ve found, but I haven’t found any app that meets these needs. Any recommendations?

Hi @Kimsu ,

  1. You can consider using Stock Sync because that is exactly what the app does. One way sync that will share all product data to selected branch stores with filtered tags. Stock Sync also capable of more features such as price markup and quantity adjustment as well on the branch stores.

  2. Using Exportible and FulfillSync for this is the best choice as Exportible exports the order report from the store to external and FulfillSync is able to retrieve the file to fulfill orders in the store.

:thinking: Using three apps sounds a little scary, but I will take a closer look at this.

A few questions about StockSync: does it sync all the locations? Or can I sync all the locations from the source store to one location in the destination store?

If thats the case, you can try out Stock Sync first to manage the stock and product data across all stores. Yes, you sync all the locations from the source store to one location in the destination store.

Should be able to build out a workflow to do this for you using our app mesa. That way you could avoid multiple apps to handle all this.

I thought that too, but I talked with Mesas support, who said it’s impossible.

You could look at some sort of No-Code/Low-Code tool like Zapier for this.

Alternatively, this is a classic use case for our integration platform, www.highcohesion.com.

We’re doing these sort of integrations for brands like Represent Clothing, Adanola and more.

I was checking this solution and noticed that those are all your apps, so there should not be compatibility issues, right?

Exportible

  1. Does the app export also the shipping method & cost?
  2. When I import the orders does it distribute the products between the different locations in the same way as they were in the original order?
  3. Does the import include the data on which shop it is the origin?

FulfillSync

  1. Did I understand correctly that this app only transfers the fulfilment status? When I fulfill the order in the source store it sends the data to the destination store and fulfills them. Does the destination store and source store both send confirmation emails to the customer?
  2. If I import the order with the Exportible app and then FulfillSync syncs the order by order number. Does the Exportible app keep the original order number or does it create a new order number at the source store?

Is Zappier reliable enough for this? I was hoping that MESA would do this but their support told me that is not something the app can do it.

Yes, all these apps are ours and there is fully compatible with each other. Let me answer your question accordingly.

Exportible

  1. Yes, export shipping method and cost can be included.

  2. Exportible doesn’t import the orders and its only function is to export orders.

FulfillSync

  1. Yes, FulfillSync updates order with tracking number and mark them as fulfilled. By default, it will trigger the Shopify auto email sent to customer when it is marked as fulfilled.

  2. I think this question here is a bit complicated for me to answer.

When I went through MESA I noticed that they also had integration with Open AI, and I also asked about using Open AI for language translations through MESA. Do you think this can be done as well? Let’s say I want to export/import product information to a store so I could also specify the tone of voice.

Yep! That sounds like a great use case.

I’ll get cracking here on the products/inventory side of thigns in my demo store. If you want to install the app on both stores and get me collab access that would be great.

And remind me to extend your trial out so you don’t get charged at all until this is all up and running.

I think it may not be possible for us to extend trials on accounts that are already passed the trial period though, so we may need to do a refund or something.

I got the products/variants/inventory one way sync pretty much done with chatgpt integration to rewrite the product description.

Yes, Stock Sync only sync one location per feed. To update multiple location, you will need to create multiple feed as well.

  • Product Sync (One-way): It allows you to push product data from the Source to Destinations. It handles Inventory (Multi-location) and can also sync Metafields or others like page, blog. You can also filter which products go to which store based on Tags.

  • Two-way Order Workflow:

    1. Sales: When an order is placed on a Destination store, it is automatically created a draft/ real order on the Source store.

    2. Fulfillment: Once you fulfill the order on the Source store, the tracking information and status sync back to the Destination store automatically.

Most apps here cover the inventory and order side well. For the product data half, especially the “metafields selected by tags” piece you called out, Peak PIM might fit. Shopify-native PIM with bulk editing, metafields, metaobjects and media, plus multi-store push built in.
