I am using the Amely theme. The description shows on Desktop, just not on mobile. Any help or lead would be much appreciated!
Hello @ariannesalamat1
-
Did you find any setting in the theme customize option/checkbox or something which has the option to hide the description on mobile?
-
Try reaching out to the theme support team once to confirm the issue.
it could be due to the theme’s settings or customization options. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
-
Check theme settings: Go to your Shopify admin, navigate to “Online Store” > “Themes,” and click on “Customize” for the Amely theme. Look for any settings related to mobile visibility or product description display. Make sure the product description is enabled for mobile devices.
-
Responsive design: Ensure that the theme is designed to be responsive, meaning it adapts to different screen sizes and devices. Check if other elements on the product page are displaying correctly on mobile devices. If not, it might be an issue with the theme’s responsiveness that requires further investigation or contacting the theme developer for support.
-
Theme customization: If you have made any custom changes to the theme’s code, review those modifications to see if they are impacting the visibility of the product description on mobile. Make sure that the necessary code is present to display the description on mobile devices.
-
Mobile-specific CSS: Inspect the product page using the browser’s developer tools while viewing it on a mobile device. Look for any CSS styles or media queries that might be affecting the visibility of the product description. If you find any conflicting styles or missing code related to the product description, you can modify the theme’s CSS files to correct the issue.
-
Contact theme developer: If you have gone through the above steps and are still experiencing difficulties with the product description on mobile devices, it is advisable to reach out to the Amely theme developer or their support team. They will have specific knowledge about the theme and should be able to assist you further in resolving the issue.
Remember to backup your theme and make note of any changes you make before making modifications to the theme’s code, as it will help you restore the original version if needed.
Hi @ariannesalamat1 ,
Thanks for reaching out here. Feel free to share your store link here, so I can try to replicate the issue on my end to eliminate the local issue to a browser or internet provider.
Also, can you please confirm if the theme ever displayed product descriptions on mobile since you first installed it or this is a new issue?
In most cases, the cause for this behaviour would be a customized theme code or an app that may interfere with your theme. The best way to establish if it’s theme related problem is to install a new version of your theme and then see if it happens to it too. If the new theme doesn’t have this problem, your current theme will need a revision. Please let me know what happens when you try to replicate the issue on a different theme.
As you’re using a third party theme, it is a good idea to reach out to the developer directly and check if they provide post-purchase support in these situations.
