Google won’t list most of my products because it says the descriptions are too long. Is there a work around here or do I have to go into 450 products and shorten the copy? I’d rather not, because we want to give our customers as much info as possible. We do add a little code so ALL the copy doesn’t appear at once, the customer has to click “READ MORE…”. Is there some code ‘word’ I can embed in the copy that would trick Google bots into thinking the copy ends? Would tabs help? Thank you!

Hi!
It’s not the actual product description you need to change, it’s the SEO meta descriptions that need to be 320 characters or less. These are found at the very bottom of each of your edit product pages, currently have to do this for one of my clients but I haven’t seen any faster ways than going into each and deleting down to the 320 limit.
If you are talking about Google Shopping, then you need to have descriptions that are less than 5000 characters.
If you don’t want to edit your website, you can add a supplement feed, to just edit the specific products in Google Merchant Center.
