Hi Shopify experts, I so wanted to upgrade my Theme and went with Flow but still on Preview (hesitate to go live and switch) until I can figure this issue out. How do I go about customizing my tabs for like Product Descriptions and Fabric on my products page so that it doesn’t copy the same content for all products? If there’s coding involved, I am somewhat a novice and need easy directions … much appreciated out there for assistance. ![]()
Topic summary
Issue: While previewing the Flow theme, product page tabs (e.g., Description, Fabric) show the same content across all products. The user wants per-product content without complex coding.
Latest guidance: Create unique product page templates or use product metafields so tab content varies by product. A Shopify help link on templates was provided.
Key concepts:
- Templates: Predefined layouts for product pages. Creating multiple product templates lets you assign different tab content/layouts to specific products or groups.
- Metafields: Custom fields attached to products (e.g., Fabric, Care). Theme sections/blocks can reference these fields so each product displays its own values.
Suggested actions:
- Option A: Duplicate the default product template, customize tab sections/blocks, and assign the template to targeted products.
- Option B: Define product metafields for each tab, then edit the theme to pull tab content from those metafields.
Status: Guidance provided; no confirmation of implementation yet. The thread remains open pending the user’s follow-up.
Hi @BGray_1
You will need to create different product page templates for your products or create meta fields so your products don’t have the same content as tabs.
