Hi everyone, I am Emmanuel Katto. I’m having some trouble implementing a custom attribute filtering feature on my Shopify store. I’ve created a custom attribute called “Material” and have added it to several product variations. Now, I want to create a filter on my collection page that allows customers to filter products by this custom attribute. For example, if a customer clicks on “Cotton” under the “Material” filter, I want the collection page to only show products that have a material attribute of “Cotton”. I’ve tried using the “Price” and “Quantity” filters, but I’m not sure how to apply this custom attribute to the filter. Has anyone else tried this? If so, could you please share your solution?
Hi there, @emmanuelkattoug . Thank you for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community Forums with your question around adding a custom filter. My name is Imogen. It’s good to meet you!
Based on what you’ve described above, it sounds like you’re looking to create a custom filter, and add that to your store’s search filters. Is this correct? If so, we have a help document here that outlines how you can add custom filters to your store via Shopify’s Search and Discovery App. What I suggest is checking out the first hyperlinked resource in this reply, and trying out the steps outlined there in order to add this custom filter based on the attribute (which I’m assuming means ‘tag’) you’ve added to specific products! Let us know if it does the trick for you or not!
Thank you for your response Imogen. I’ll try creating custom filter by reading resources.
