Some of our products are physical stock held in a warehouse and others are Print-on-Demand. Can I set up Shopify so my POD items are automatically fulfilled and my supplier notified, but my physical stock orders are held back - so I can contact the warehouse we use who is not connected to Shopify?
Hi @Darren-GRP ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community.
This may be able to be achieved through a feature called order routing. This allows you to assign a set of rules to an order and then prioritize those locations based on those results. The locations with the highest priority ranking are selected to fulfill the order. To learn more, you can check out our Order Routing document.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
The reply was helpful, but now I need to try and set up the order routing facility.
is it possible to also have shopify send through each web order to our accounting system Xero, as opposed to sending a record of the payment being sent? We need to ensure that stock records are maintained and the only report I can see being sent across is a generic statement of payments. If the individual web order was passed across it could include the exact record of what stock had been sold.
is this possible?
Great question @Darren-GRP . Shopify doesn’t natively have a connection with Xero. You would want to get in touch with them directly to see if they offer some sort of integration with the Shopify platform.
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
