Hi
I have kind of the same request but different enough to make the solution not suitable.
Basically we sell items in different sizes but for the smaller one, we want to sell it only by 5 or 10.
The complexity is that 5 or 10 doesn’t refer to 5 or 10 times the same product, but 5 or 10 products in that size. Is there an app to do this?
So far, I was considering a work around : creating the smaller size option priced at 0 with a message saying that a pack is required, which should be purchased along. Basically the customer select all his products priced at 0 but must purchase a product “pack of 5” which will have a price.
Which doesn’t sound like the easiest and most easy solution to promote.
And we have too many products for customers to select them from a dropdown list.
I hope my request is understandable and thank you in advance for your answers.
As my question was moved to its own thread I felt like it was necessary to rephrase it a little and make it easier to understand.
I’m looking for the best way to sell a variant of a product (the smallest size) in pack of 5 or 10, but the pack would be composed of different products in that size.
we have too many references to create a product where the customer could choose the designs from a drop down list.
Hence it appears that the best way is to create a variant which could only be purchased if the customer buys a quantity of 5 of the same OR 5 different items in that particular size.
The only work around I could think of and that we are ready to implement, is to create the variant, price it at 0 with a mention that it requires the purchase of a pack.
While this solution could work, it wouldn’t be the most optimized one, not easy to understand for the customer, hence difficult to promote efficiently and it might also induce a shady accounting of the sales (with a price of 0€)
In addition to this, we may end up with clients thinking they could get those products for free and placing orders that wouldn’t be valid as they wouldn’t include the qualifying pack product.
Looking forward to your replies, suggestions and ideas. Thanks a lot in advance.
Ok I just saw that the test listings I created were refused by Google and Pinterest because items can’t be priced at 0.
so anyway I would need to set a price and indicate that a minimum quantity is required.
Hence I’ll need to put a price per unit.
Which makes it harder to create a special price if ordered by 10 instead of 5.
and I’m not even sure I could create a discount code or automatic discount which would apply only to one variant.
so if there is an app that could handle this, I would be super grateful to hear about it
