Product options/inventory tracking question

Hi everyone,

We sell hot sauce. We have a product where you can choose two flavors for a box. I have seen various ways to create options for the box, what I have not found is how to link the inventory of those flavor options to the sku’s of those flavors. I set the inventory #'s for the individual bottles/flavors which are sold separately and now I want to have that inventory decrease every time someone adds a flavor to the box. I am not sure how to link the products. Sorry if this is a newbie question. Any help is appreciated.

Here’s a quick demonstration on how to set it up:

  • Create a new option set:

  • Add an option that allows customers to select 2 out of your available hot sauce flavors for the box, using the Checkbox option type.

  • Assign your option values to associated existing products, so the price and quantity of the products will be linked to the selected option values. When a flavor option is added to the box during checkout, the associated product quantity will be automatically deducted as per your requirements.

  • Finally, assign the option set to your relevant products on your website, and you’re all set!
