Product Options with Image/Swatch & Text for add-ons

Hi

Can anyone recommend a product options app which allows me to display add-ons something like in the mockup below;

I would like to be able to show an image/swatch of the add-on product next to its name and also the price. Ideally, I would also like to make the name & image a clickable link to the product which opens in a new tab.

Thanks!

Hi @Baskingshark ,

The Easify Product Options app is a great solution for configuring your product options similar to the reference website. It allows you to include checkbox options with images and prices, as demonstrated in the example below :hugs: :

  • Storefront:

  • Simple App Settings:

However, it’s important to note that as of now, the app doesn’t support creating a “clickable link to the product that opens in a new tab”. Achieving this functionality would require additional customization.

This looks like it would work really well for what I want, thank you! The linking ability is a “nice to have” not a must (and on reflection it would probably be better to have a “view” link or similar rather than making the image/text clickable since this would make it more fiddly to check the checkbox.)

Can this UI be combined with the conditional logic?

Your demo store is one of the best I’ve seen too - it’s very clear and easy to see the different options.

Hi @Baskingshark ,

Love your idea and suggestion! The “View” link sounds way clearer for customers than just a clickable link :+1: .

or:

We’re totally on board and adding it to our to-do list for development.

And about your question on blending this UI with conditional logic – absolutely doable!

One thing, though, it’s gonna take us about 1-2 weeks to kick off development. Can you hang tight for a bit? While you’re waiting, check out some more cool features our app has got :blush: .

Can totally wait, like I say, the linking ability wasn’t a must and that’s great if you can build it and get it into a sprint that as quickly as 1-2 weeks out. Some thoughts for it off the top of my head (which may or may not work with your stack/UI);

  • I assume you can pull in the URL to link to when the user selects the add-on product so it won’t need to be entered manually or selected separately

  • It would be great if the feature could be enabled/disabled on an individual case-by-case basis. My use case for needing the view link is that if someone is buying a sauna, 90% of the time, they need to buy a heater to go with it in order for it to operate. There are usually 2 or 3 options for heaters that will work with the sauna, and then sometimes further options for 2 or 3 heater controllers that are compatible with the heaters and are needed for the heater to work.

    The heaters & controllers are expensive (3 to 4 figures) and have different features so users will want to look over them in detail to decide which one they want to go with. However, at present they need to select their sauna, look at the heaters listed on the sauna’s product page, go to search, search for each heater individually and compare them, go back to the sauna’s product page, select the one they want, then repeat for the controller before adding to cart. Either that or just select “no heater” and “no controller” on the sauna product page and then search/research/add each desired product to the cart separately.

    Having the “view” link will allow for a much smoother funnel with less leakage. However, we also have add-on accessories like buckets, backrests etc on the sauna product page. I don’t necessarily want the view link on these as they are much lower cost ($10-$100ish) and I prefer not to risk the sale by allowing these to divert the user from the funnel in any way. (I’d obviously rather someone completes a purchase on an $8K sauna+heater+controller package than have them build the cart then get distracted while looking at a $25 thermometer in another tab and then doesn’t complete check out.)

    I would likely use a different UI to display these accessory products so it isn’t weird for the user that the heaters/controllers have the view link but these don’t.

  • If there was a global setting which allowed the user to make the feature default to on/off depending on the proportion of products they anticipate having that would require the view link, that would be a super awesome-to-have but definitely not essential.

I’ve checked out the conditional logic with this UI too and it’s perfect for my needs. Thanks!

Hi @Baskingshark ,

I’d like to provide additional details regarding your current concerns :blush: :

  1. Regarding the “View” link, there are 2 possible cases to consider. If the option value is linked to an addon product, admins can utilize that product link for the “View” link. On the other hand, if there is no addon product, an option will be available for admins to manually input the URL for the “View” link. We are currently evaluating whether to develop both cases or prioritize one. Implementing both scenarios might extend the development timeline.

  2. Yes, the “View” link feature will be optional, allowing admins to enable or disable it for each case. Besides, if the Sauna product is a mandatory item when customers want to purchase the Heater, you can set the Sauna as a required option on the Heater product page.

If there are any specific requirements or details that I may have overlooked, please feel free to let me know.

That sounds great - for my purposes, having the “view” link inferred by an add-on product would be best but obviously, that may be more work to implement than a simple text box where the user can input the URL. And obviously, while I’m using this display UI, there’s the consideration of how/if the view link will display in the other UIs you offer. (I’m a PM and I spent way too much time thinking about this today lol.)

Good luck with, I can’t wait to see the result!

Your suggestions are incredibly valuable to our app development process. Could you please provide us with your email? Once we launch the new feature, you will be the first customer to receive our announcement :hugs: .

Thanks and sure thing - I’ll DM it to you.
