So we have a store currently on Woocommerce which we would like to move to Shopify. But our product have a sepcific personalisation option which can be seen here.

The user selects if they want 4 or 7 characters and then can type in their characters, but the tricky part is that they can also select symbols to add in the text, so they can click on the symbol and it adds it in the text.

Is there a easy way to do this on Shopify without creating a custom app? Or a alternative way that this can be done in Shopify to get the same result?

We are using our developer that we have used for years, but Shopify is somewhat new to them, they coded this originally in Woocommerce. Where can I go or who can I contact to get a estimate of what it will cost just for a Shopify expert to implement this one function in Javascript and Liquid as my developer will handle everything else
