Hello! We are meeting a problem, that in product page the photos on smaller desktop screens are to big. Im using 16inch MAcbook pro and on my screen it looks good. But on smaller screens the product photo are way bigger. Can anyone help us to solve this problem?
I took a look at the website and replicated the same product page on two different device displays, one a 13in mac and the other a 15 inch windows pc. I used Chrome browser for both.
The image size ratio on the page did not appear to change for me, the image width was just over half the page width and the height of the image reached about the same spot in both view sizes. There were some notable differences though in how the page was formatted between the UK version of the site and the Canadian version of the site, which you can see in the screenshots below.
In order to get a website view similar to your second photo, Aurea Corset Gray, I had to zoom out in the browser to about the 67% zoom mark on my 15 inch display. I definitely understand the desire to having that visible experience on more display sizes, and that can be doable by altering the theme code to adjust the aspect ratio, but it may not be the ideal experience for all displays. When I zoomed out to the same aspect ratio on my 13" display, the base text in the expandable sections was too small to read. Which you can see in my screenshot below:
Most themes will be designed to scale the images and content to the screen size automatically, based on the initial size ratio set. Changing the aspect ratio for different screen sizes can be doable, but will most likely require a large amount of coding in the theme. This would potentially be a very advanced customization (I am not a developer, so I can’t confirm that) with a lot of trickle down effect across other theme areas. I recommend reaching out to an experienced Shopify theme developer for a second opinion on this. If required, you can always find one at experts.shopify.com.
