Hello,
I am interested to know if anyone knows an app that can solve this issue for us.
We would like to link our existing bundles with the relevant SKUs that are inside of them.
Some more info:
- The bundles we are selling contain 2 items that have sizing options resulting in a unique SKU for each sizing combination
- The bundles already exist and are actively selling on the site, and their SKUs cannot be changed as they are linked to our 3PL
- The items inside of the bundles are being sold on the site separately
- An example of a bundle SKU would be CK-BUNDL-M-S-LA. This represents the bundle with a ‘M’ shirt size and a ’S’ Shorts size. These SKU combinations also exist for all sizes S-2XL for the shirts and S-XL for the shorts.
- Inside each bundle is a hat and shades, that do not have sizing options.
- The clothing is Print on demand, so the inventory sometimes goes negative, and its continue selling out of stock enabled.
- The hats and shades however, are not POD, and the inventory is tracked and does not have continue selling when out of stock enabled.
We want to make sure there is a seamless way for us to get these inputted quickly without creating new SKUs or products.
I’m using TRUNK for our bundles. SO easy.
PLUS, their customer service is incredible. Always above and beyond.
Hi
Our app links up your SKUs inside bundles but you didn’t specify the reason you need to do this. Usually it involves calculating inventory of the bundles or splitting the bundles into the components which our app does. Three things our solution does:
1. Inventory Management
Our bundle app lets you connect up all your products to correct SKUs and we then update their inventory based on the component stock level. So in your example if you have 2 components that carry correct stock we will calculate what can be made for the bundle.
2. Order Fulfilment
Not sure if you require this as you say your 3PL already processes the bundles. A lot of our users process only the components so they require them on pickslips. What Bundleup does is update the order post purchase by replacing the order line of the bundle SKU with the component SKUs.
3. Bulk Set Up
If you are dealing with variations there are a lot to go through and set up so rather than doing them one by one we offer a bulk CSV file upload solution to automate the process and reduce the time it takes to set up. This also lets you update bundles easier if you ever need to change them.
If you need help in setting up and testing please get in touch. You can also find our guide here: https://help.channelup.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/900004620086-Bundleup-Guide-for-Shopify

Instead of specifying a custom SKU code for your bundle, it might be better to just create a bundle with your existing SKU codes. The Bundler app is capable of doing that for you. You just create a bundle in the app and when the customer buys the products from the bundle, they will get a discount. And each item will be listed separately in the order (with it’s own SKU), so that your fulfillment center will know exactly which products/items to ship.
Hi @mreirs
I think that the best solution to your problem will be to use a “Shop The Look” app from the Shopify AppStore. On the Product Detail Page, you can display hats and shades alongside the clothing product (which is printed on demand) and allow your customers to shop the entire look (a set of products frequently bought together). You can also create a bundle of hats and sunglasses and incorporate them into the look alongside the clothing item.
The only reason I don’t recommend creating a bundle (as you requested) is that you have a customizable product that is currently on pre-order. If the bundled product contains a Pre-Order item with pre-defined variants and other in-stock items, an omnichannel order management system can easily link SKUs of the bundle and individual products, providing end-users with a seamless experience.
You can explore this omnichannel OMS. This can also help you automatically check/uncheck the continue selling when out of stock option based on real-time inventory availability.
