A record label owner encountered issues with Shopify’s Translate & Adapt feature when trying to create a German translation of their store. They wanted to keep product titles (album/CD names) untranslated, but manual changes in Translate & Adapt weren’t reflecting on the storefront.
Key concern: Suspected interference from Judge.me review app with the translation system.
The app only translates widget elements, not review content itself
Should not interfere with product title or page translations
Reviews remain saved even if the app is uninstalled and reinstalled
Additional complexity: Even after uninstalling Translate & Adapt, translations persisted somewhere in the system, making troubleshooting difficult.
Resolution: The issue was ultimately resolved by the original poster, though the specific solution wasn’t detailed. The store is now running smoothly with proper translation handling.

So I’m currently facing some issues with my page translation.
We’re a record label with quite a big catalogue. Our main language for the store is English, however we’d like to have a translation into german. Since our products are mostly CDs/ Albums, we don’t want the product titles to be translated, since these are “fixed” names.
So I’d like to use shopify’s translate & adapt. However, if i manually go into the products and leave the product title blank or even change the product title to the english version, it doesn’t show up translated in our storefront.
We’re also using judge.me for the translation of reviews (of albums, etc.)
Now I’m asking myself if judge.me (the translation for our reviews) kind of interferes with the general translation of “translate & adapt” and somehow overwrites the translation.
I really could use some help, starting to lose my mind here.
Thanks in advance.
In the screenshots you see the changes i did in the “translate & adapt” vs. the storefront.
BTW. I’ve been reaching out to the help center/ chat quite a few times now. But no real solution in sight, also no real help can be provided… i’m super stuck here and it’s keeping the launch of the website back, quite a bit.
This is Abderrahman from Judge.me, thank you for your question.
Two main points here:
Judge.me only translates elements of its widgets and not the actual body of the reviews (content)
Judge.me should not interfere with the translation of other elements on the page e.g. the product title.

Thank you for your answer. Do you have any idea, where the problem might come from?
Even if i uninstall “translate and adapt” there’s still a translation for the whole page somewhere (don’t know where), which also translates all the products. That’s why i was thinking, that it might be an issue laying somewhere else, which i can’t identify.
Is it possible to uninstall judge.me without losing all the translations of reviews when i reinstall it? I somehow need to reverse search for that issue…AARRGHHHHH… help…
Please note the Judge.me app does not translate the content of your reviews, our multi language feature translates only the widget elements to different languages. In case you uninstall the Judge.me app, rest assured your existing reviews will still be available on your account once you reinstall our application.
