Product variant app with price add-ons

Hello!

Newcomer here.

We are custom sportswear brand offering personalised design sports gear for teams. I am using Shopify to create custom stores for teams. Stores are created as specific collections and I have been able to find workarounds for most of my needs so far.

However I have run into issues when it comes to offering specific sizing adjustments for some of our products.

For example: running jackets

  • come in two different fitting options (slim fit and regular fit). No extra costs are added.
  • plus we offer sizing adjustments for sleeves (+5cm and -5cm). For sizing adjustments we apply 7 EUR upcharge.
  • sometimes we offer to add custom names for jackets

So far I have been solving this via app called “Avis Product Options”. It does the thing and we are able to offer fitting and sizing options from dropdown list. It also offers custom name options with upcharge.

Since we offer custom team designs, we don’t stock items and all orders are produced “on demand” once the team shop is closed and all orders are collected for production. This is the part where we run into issues. The only way we can see if customer has selected fitting option or sizing adjustment is by opening each order and extracting data manually (I have attached screenshots for reference). It doesn’t show on invoice or packing slip either.

As far as I understand app is creating additional product to add upcharge for sizing adjustments and custom names. Not sure how fitting options work in this case, but result is that we can’t generate reports where we could see which items have been ordered with custom names, sizing and fitting adjustments. Shopify built in reports feature doesn’t allow to create reports for specific collections which is essential in our case (as team shops are build as unique collections ). I know there are app that would allow us to generate reports based on collections, but it doesn’t solve fitting and sizing adjustments issue. It’s possible to see how many times particular sizing adjustment has been ordered, but it’s not tied to specific order and product.

To summarise:

  1. Are there any product variant apps that would be better fit for our needs? App that would add information about adjustments directly to product information and not as separate product.
  2. Which app would be most suitable for creating reports by collections AND would offer to extract information allowing us to see which product has been ordered with adjustments?

You can try Easify Product Options—it lets you set up custom options like fit, sleeve adjustments, and name personalization. When exporting orders, the applied selections are recorded correctly for each product, making it easier to track customizations. Here’s how it works:

To make sure you know which product an add-on option belongs to, simply select “Export Orders with Options” in Easify app.

Is it possible to share screenshot of report? I would like to see how customisation options are showing in Shopify reports. I would consider switching to Easify app if reports suit our needs.

This data would most likely be available in line item properties. We can create sales reports by product showing these properties.

Just a quick question - is it possible to create reports for particular collection? This is how our custom team shops are created - as specific collections. So I would need to generate a report for particular collection and apply specific time window when orders where placed. I would need to see all the products ordered and in addition to that also sizing adjustments for each product (set up via app). Is that possible with Better Reports?

Im having the same issue. I use easify, but its an extra $10 a month JUST to be able to export reports, and the report would need a ton of manual manipulation to make it simple and straight forward.

Switch to a product options app that leverages line item properties so customizations show on the orders and invoices.
Pair with a reporting app such as Better Reports or EZ Exporter to extract orders by collection and view size, fit, and custom name, all in one report for easier management of production.
