Product Variants: Can be hidden? External App for easier editing?

Hi there!

The products in my shop have multiple variants: product, size, price. As my prices have increased and products are being switched around, I’ve been looking for an easier way to edit all of this. I’m aware of the bulk-editing feature, but this would still be a massive undertaking editing my pricing this way. I was hoping to find an external app that would make a dropdown similar to what I currently have, so it could be easily edited and applied to certain products (not all of my products have the same pricing). No luck so far!

So, if that’s not possible - is there any way to hide certain variants from products? Certain sizes that I offer are not available for every product, but they show up in the dropdown (as unavailable). This is confusing to my clients, and I’m hoping there’s some way of hiding them.

For example, the product, Fine Art Paper, may have every size available:

But the product, Acrylic Blocks, is only available in 5x7 and 8x10. So, clicking on 11x14, just shows no price available.

If there is no external app where I can customize a dropdown like I already have, then I’d like to figure out how to hide the unavailable sizes. Although, for price editing, I’d much prefer an easier way (like an app) so I’m not spending DAYS updating all of my pricing. ?‍ :female_sign:

@KelMurphy - through code editing we can hide the drop down menu options which are not available or sold out, that way you can hide them and users will see only available options

Thanks for the suggestion - I’ll give it a whirl, but they’re not technically sold-out variants. They’re not available to begin with, if that makes sense. Because one of my products/variants has multiple sizes, they ALL show up for every product in the dropdown. So, I don’t think they’re considered sold-out.

@KelMurphy - you can check if variant is available using code and if not then hide it, this will need code tweaks
