The Collection product grid in all free 2.0 themes seems to have a bug with displaying the correct number of products as set in the admin. In the attached screen, this theme (Dawn) is set to display 12 products, yet only 7 appear:
It sounds like you are experiencing a bug with the product grid display in the Dawn theme in your Shopify store. This could be caused by a number of factors, such as a conflict with a third-party app or an issue with your theme code.
Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:
Clear your browser cache and refresh the page to see if the correct number of products appear.
Check your theme’s settings to make sure that you have set the number of products per page to the correct amount.
Try disabling any third-party apps or plugins that may be affecting your theme’s product grid display.
Contact the theme developer or support team to report the issue and ask for assistance in resolving it.
I don’t know why (yet), but the issue seems to be tied to the filter, and selecting a filter option (available or out of stock) will make the grid show the correct number:
It also seems that a hacky fix is to first show the filter, check both available and out of stock, and then hide it, assuming you can do without displaying it.
weird thing, one of my collection (that btw has the same template) is showing the number of products per page and total correctly, I updated the theme to the new version but they didn’t fix this problem
