Am I able to have one set of items that would be available to the public and another set or page that are professional-only products available to my students behind a password?
If so, how do I set that up?

You should check out this app, it can do what you describe plus a lot more, essentially it can “lock” any content on your website so only specific customers can access it. Not familiar with your business but if it is related to e-learning this app could be really helpful:
