Hi all,
I’m running into one hiccup with Shopify that I’m hoping someone else in the boutique world has solved.
Right now, I use an open-to-buy system to track what I’ve purchased each month. But in Shopify, all my purchase orders (POs) are shown together, there’s no easy way to separate them by month or see how much I’ve committed per month.
I’ve already reached out to Shopify support, but they couldn’t offer a solution.
Are there any other boutiques here that use Shopify and have figured out a way to organize POs by month?
Whether it’s through tags, an app, or a workaround — I’d love to know what’s worked for you.
Thanks in advance!
Hi @joshmcl
Shopify does not have native monthly PO tracking, but some shops and businesses in general, makeshift with tagging POs by month for example, “PO-June” or using custom fields. Apps like Stocky for inventory and POs or Inventory Planner offer stronger PO reporting and forecasting. These will help you to organize and determine your monthly purchases.
Hey @joshmcl - not sure if you found an answer yet or not, but considering you run a boutique (as we do) then I think FyreTrail might be a good solution for you. We built FyreTrail to handle the PO’s for the store, but also built an Open-To-Buy budgeting module that fits what you’re likely looking for as well that can be set to your custom time period (i.e. by month). It’s pretty much originally custom made for the boutique owner.
Hey Josh! It sounds like our app Procuro might be the perfect fit for this. It allows you to create PO’s, filter them by date and accepted/received status, and the highlight of our app is allowing you to automatically adjust product costs by a variety of methods when you accept a PO.
I think this might be perfect for you!
