Question about cancelling prepaid annual plan

I got auto billed to pay for my 1-year plan on October 26, 2021.

If I decide to completely cancel on December 26th, will I get credited back the amount that is the remainder of my one-year annual plan? The remainder would be 10 months leftover (or unused). Or will I just lose out on all the money I paid for the 1-year annual plan that ends on October 26, 2022?

We consider merchants signing up for long-term plans to be committing to Shopify. This gets you a discount on your plan and allows you to take advantage of our annual plan promotions. In the first 30 days, we allow refunds and plan changes as goodwill gestures for those who happen to change their mind. However, after the first 30 days, we consider it well into the start of an annual billing cycle. When you enter into a long-term subscription with Shopify, you are committing to being in that plan for the time period. If you carry a unique circumstance, you are always welcome to reach out to our Support Team to further explain why you are requesting a refund.

I got a new job and thought I’d be able to still work on my side business (
shop.heartfulfoods.com) but I know for a fact I have no time to dedicate to
refining/updating my Shopify store. That’s why I’m asking to cancel.
Please let me know what can be done. I appreciate any of your support/help

I understand your reasoning for needing to close your store. I do not have access to store specific information, so the best thing to do would be to contact our Support Team, and they will be able to look into this further for you. You can contact our Support Team by email, live chat, or callback through our Help Center. You will need to log in, select your shop, search a topic, then click “Continue” at the bottom of the page to find contact options.

What happens if I have a credit balance left in my subscription, and need to deactivate my account? Will I get reimbursed for the remaining credits or will that all be lost? Or will that stay in the account and be accessible if I reactivate the account in the future.

Credits are essentially applied like a discount towards a future invoice, and therefore cannot be transferred. However, they do not expire and should remain on the account.

If you need to deactivate your account, you can reactivate again within 2 years and the credit should apply to your next invoice.

May I ask why you’re considering deactivating your account? If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
