Question regarding POS and online website

Hi! I currently have Shopify and use the POS and have a website. I am wondering, is it possible to get rid of the POS option and just have a website through Shopify? Is there a price difference?

If you’re on the $89 USD/month/location Shopify POS Pro plan, you can remove the POS sales channel from your store, or you can keep it and simply downgrade to the free Shopify Lite plan to reduce your monthly costs. If you’re on the Shopify POS Lite plan, you can still remove the POS sales channel, however, it will make no difference to the subscription price as Shopify POS Lite is built into all our subscription plans.

You can find the steps to downgrade to the Shopify Lite plan and remove the POS sales channel below.

Downgrade to the Shopify Lite plan

  1. In your Shopify admin, click to Point of Sale under Sales channels.
  2. Underneath Point of Sale, click Locations
  3. Click the Manage subscriptions button.
  4. Select POS Lite beside your location(s).
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Approve subscription.

Remove the POS sales channel

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Sales channels
  2. Click Remove beside Point of Sale
  3. Check the I understand the risks of uninstalling this sales channel checkbox.
  4. Click Remove Point of Sale.
