Great question! That checkbox in the bulk edit screen turns on or off the need to collect shipping information from a customer at the checkout. If your product is digital and sent to the customer via email then it wouldn’t require shipping and the customer could skip the shipping step at the checkout if their entire order is like that.
Any products that do ship to customers or that require you to collect a shipping address will need to have that checkbox enabled.
