Reached checkout but no conversions

I am having issues with conversions. I’ve finally started getting reached checkout on my store actually 25 today. However I’m not seeing any conversions. Could anyone give me some feedback? I’ve done a test run and didn’t have any issues when trying order myself. I can track exactly what the customer is purchasing and receiving messages stating what they want to purchase but no conversions. Many customers are overseas.

Hi, @kingswish71 !

Thanks for checking in on this. It’s important to identify any potential issues and address them in a timely manner to ensure that your customers have a seamless and positive shopping experience. I’d be more than happy to assist you today.

There can be a couple of reasons why you may not be seeing conversions, which I will list below:

  • Have you got reasonable shipping costs? Are they clear and reasonable for your customers? You may want to consider offering free shipping or discounts for larger orders to incentivize customers to complete their purchase and increase your conversion rate. Learn more about Shipping rates at this page.

  • It’s essential to ensure that your website is easy to navigate. If customers are having trouble finding the products they’re looking for or navigating your website, they may be less likely to make a purchase.

  • What Payment gateways do you offer? Do you offer Shopify Payments, PayPal or something else? Customers could be hesitant to buy if they don’t see a payment option that they’re familiar with or trust. Check out more info on additional payment methods here.

Feel free to share your store’s URL here with me so that I can test your site and checkout for you. Also, the customers who you mentioned they wanted to make a purchase – did they give any information as to why they didn’t complete the purchase? Any additional information you can provide would be awesome.

If you’re experiencing issues with conversions on your store despite reaching the checkout stage, there could be several factors to consider. Here are some potential reasons and suggestions for improving your conversion rate:

  1. Checkout process: Review your checkout process to ensure it is user-friendly and streamlined. Eliminate any unnecessary steps or fields that may deter customers from completing their purchase. Test the checkout process yourself to ensure it functions smoothly.

  2. Payment options: Make sure you offer a variety of secure and trusted payment options that cater to your target audience. Consider integrating popular payment gateways or alternative payment methods that are commonly used in the regions where your customers are located.

  3. Shipping and taxes: Check your shipping and tax settings to ensure they are accurate and transparent. Unexpected shipping costs or surprise taxes can lead to cart abandonment. Clearly communicate shipping fees and tax information upfront to avoid any surprises at checkout.

Thanks for the response. My shipping rates are very low and had switched to
free shipping. I’m still customers at reached checkout but no conversions.

Thanks for your response, @kingswish71 !

I appreciate you sharing your store’s link this gives me a better idea on your store and what customers might be looking for.

First thing I did notice is that, you have a lot of different types of products there, and they are not separated into categories/collections. This makes it hard for the buyer to find what they are looking for on your store and takes up their time trying to find what they need. I’d recommend separating the products into collections as mentioned in our help center here and adding a drop-down menu with the different collections to your store.

If your store has many products, it may be beneficial to use a drop-down menu from the main menu to organize these collections. This can help make it easier for customers to navigate your store and find the products they’re looking for. Learn more about that here.

Another suggestion of mine would be to add more detail to your products descriptions, I found they were a little lacking, so a little more detail on the products would definitely help. Reason being, unsuccessful purchases are due to lack of product information. More information on product descriptions on how to write them can be found here.

Next, upon checking out your social media links, I can see they direct to Shopify.

Having your own social media set up for your brand and product is a great way to promote your store and also drive more traffic to it along with creating trust. We have a great help doc here that recommends some themes and options that allow you to add this feature.

Have you considered adding product reviews to your products? It’s amazing to see how customer testimonials can add value to a product, especially when it promises a specific positive outcome. In fact, online reviews have become an essential tool for building trust in almost every product category. Surveys have shown that nearly 95% of shoppers read reviews before making a purchase, and customers trust reviews more than descriptions provided by the store or manufacturer. This highlights the importance of building a strong reputation through customer feedback and reviews. You can use our free app here, to import product reviews to your shop and more information can be found here at this page.

Finally, I also noticed you do not have a Shipping Policy in your store’s footer. Having a well-planned shipping policy can be a valuable asset for your business. Not only does it help you set clear expectations around shipping times and costs, but it can also be a helpful resource for customers who have questions about their orders. By proactively addressing common concerns and questions, you can reduce customer frustration and increase their confidence in your business. This can ultimately lead to improved customer satisfaction and increased conversions. Check out this blog here on creating a Shipping Policy for your shop.

Let me know if any of the above is unclear, happy to help!
