Rebel Theme – Inconsistent Font Sizes in Product Description

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with inconsistent font sizes inside my product descriptions. Some lines appear noticeably larger or smaller than others, even though everything is set to the same size in the Shopify editor. I’m using the Rebel theme.

Does anyone know what typically causes this (HTML formatting, theme CSS, etc.) and how I can force a uniform font size across the entire product description? Any guidance or CSS snippets would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Rowan

Hi there,

Thank you for your message. That makes sense.

Awesome, that would be great, thank you! I’ll add you now.

Best,

Rowan

Sounds good. I’ll send you a request.

Tough to tell without seeing the issue.

But I agree – this usually happens with copy/pasted descriptions.
Or, sometimes, descriptions imported by apps.

If you do this, it’s always good to copy your text into plain text editor (like notepad) first – this will strip any unneeded formatting.

The issue can be semi-fixed with some liquid code and alleviated with some CSS, but having a clean source always win.

Thank you for your message!

I would ideally prefer to try to fix it with some CSS, as I have 2000+ products, which would be very tedious to fix one by one.

Cheers,

Rowan

@IRedefined can you please share a product page link where you have this issue? I can check and provide the css

NO, why would you ever manage this one by one.
If this is in the product data itself then CSS is loose band-aids on headwounds.
Product descriptions aren’t just used in the online-store theme they can propagate to other channels listings where you have NO control over adding CSS band-aids resulting in an inconsistent brand.

Just use the features in excel/gsheets spreadsheet to strip out html styles, or replace all tags with specific tags if it must have html.
Put in the work and just fix the process or your always gonna be stuck doing one-off style fixes or cascade of specific styles that need constant tweaking.
This is how all those dr-pshi–ing sites end up looking ramshackle and losing money because they look untrustworthy,
smh.
