Here’s the problem. These guys would call me and say “Hey we are from XXX marketing agency. We noticed you have recently launched a new website. We provide services that will help with branding, improving seos etc etc.” These are no random telemarketers. They know my website, they know it’s on Shopify.
I don’t have my phone number posted on my website. How did these people get my number? Does Shopify sell information out to marketing companies?

I want to assure you that Shopify absolutely does not sell your information for profit. I would encourage you to review our privacy policy and the details about how your data is managed and where it is sent when you open a store with us: Shopify Privacy Policy.
Have you installed any apps on your store that are not developed by Shopify? Third party apps are independent services and have their own terms and conditions, as long as they fall under our acceptable use policy. It is possible that an app on your store or a service you registered your business with does sell your information for profit.
Also, have you double checked things like your google search listing to see if your business phone number is on your public business profile?
