Recently Viewed Products

Topic summary

A user seeks guidance on adding a ‘Recently Viewed Products’ section below the ‘You may also Like’ section on their Shopify store using the Dawn 15 theme, specifically requesting a code-based solution.

Proposed Solution:

  • Another user provides a GitHub link with step-by-step instructions for implementing this feature
  • The solution involves custom code rather than third-party libraries

Main Concern:

  • The original poster is hesitant because the recommended solution uses jQuery
  • They’re worried about site performance impact, as adding jQuery solely for one section could load additional scripts and decrease performance

Current Status:

  • The discussion remains unresolved regarding a jQuery-free alternative
  • One contributor insists the performance impact would be minimal
  • A third user offers their services, referencing a similar implementation they completed on another store

@kamm0 thanks for post yes you can Click here for step by step guideline if any issue just let me know.

Thank You Ketan for the guidance, but as you recommended, I am not using jquery, so I am not applying it. Also I am super cautious about my website performance. Was looking for another way

@kamm0 no sorry not any other way but i don’t think its impact this code your site its simple code this not third party library its custom code

This version of Recently Viewed items use jQuery. If you don’t use jQuery in your theme you shouldn’t install it for just one section (this one). It loads a lot of additional scripts, so performance of you site will be slightly decreased.
I am concerned about this

@kamm0 sorry but i don’t think is impact don’t worry about its if you don’t use this code but sure its not effect your site performance

Thanks for your support best of luck
