Attempted to transfer domain above back to the account originally opened in September by restarting the subscription.
When attempting to connect an existing Domain, the “Follow Settings Instructions” button leads to a broken link.
Question: I need to reconnect the unlocked Domain to the Shopify subscription I have restarted. The domain is tied to the newly setup account, but the Domain’s “Not Connected” and “Needs Attention” prompts on the Domain settings page prevents me from transferring it. How can I transfer the domain from the newly setup account that is still under trial to the old account that is now a paid subscription?
Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention.
You can transfer your Shopify-managed domain to a different Shopify store, which doesn’t require waiting 60 days for the domain to be unlocked - this would be required when you want to transfer your Shopify-managed domain to a another domain provider. Since the original store has already been deactivated, then you can consider reactivating the store in order and reconnecting the domain in order to initiate the domain transfer on your own. Alternatively, if you don’t want to reactivate the old store, then our Support team can assist you with transferring the domain. While we’re unable to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community, we’d be happy to further assist you through live chats. Simply visit the Shopify Help Center and login to your account to create a support request.
I’ve also noticed at the end of your post that the old store has been reactivated and it’s on a paid subscription now. If so, then you can simply initiate the domain transfer from the new store using the guide mentioned above. However, should you require further assistance with this, then you can also reach out to us through the Shopify Help Center.
That being said, I noticed that you’re a new member of our Shopify Community and I’d love to hear more about your business. What types of products are you selling? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?
Domain Settings > Transfer to another Shopify store is not available within Domains section because:
a. “Your domain, www.selfmodernize.com, is not yet connected”
and
b. “Multiple issues with selfmodernize.com” (i. Error fetching domain CAA record; ii. Error fetching domain CNAME record, iii. Error fetching domain nameserver record)
Based on the error message, it sounds like the Shopify-managed domain may have been disconnected from the original store. It’s important to note that you’d need to connect the custom domain back to the store where the domain was purchased on, and then you can initiate the domain transfer to the designated store. If you’re still experiencing issues with connecting or transferring the domain, then it looks like we’ll need to access your account in order to resolve the issue as we’re unable to access merchant accounts on the Shopify Community. To get in touch with our Support team, please visit the Shopify Help Center and we’d be happy to assist you through live chats.
