We are using a subscription app for our store, but for international customers only credit card payments are available. We contacted all of the popular subscription app developers and they all said that the limitation is with Shopify Payments not making other payment methods available for recurring payments. Is Shopify planning on adding other payment methods any time soon (PayPal, iDeal, Bancontact, etc) for recurring payments or is Shopify not a suitable platform for subscriptions?

One solution is to signup with Gocardless as your merchant provider. Through Gocardless you will be able to process recurring payments/Subscriptions through SEPA accross europe .
