Hi - I’m struggling to find an app that gives me what I need. I’m looking for a referral app where customers send their individual link to friends - if friends order from us, the OG customer received a ‘voucher’ for a certain amount but I need to restrict what the voucher can be used on (no sale/no other offers etc.) I saw referral candy but they take 10% of every order… is there something similar that offers a flat fee instead?
I’ve just searched the appstore and there’s Smile and UpPromote which both sound ok and offer a flat rate. It seems like they all provide a 14 day free trial, so go for the top tier and see what it does and how it works, then if it’s not what you’re looking for, cancel.
Also check out Essential Loyalty they have a “Give ___ Get ____” referral that is very customizable and you can set it be restricted to certain products/deals.

Consider looking at referral apps that give store credit or discount codes rather than paying comissions on orders. Platforms such as BON Loyalty and Growave allow you to set flat monthly fees and have more flexibility in the terms of rewards. Shopify native discount combinations settings can also be used to limit the application on sale products or to limit stacking. Another alternative is to use a referral app and automatic discount conditions via Shopify Flow to get more control over eligibility without having to pay the percentage fees.

Really common frustration, and Referral Candy’s 10% cut adds up very quickly.
The best flat fee alternatives worth looking at are Bloop Referrals, which starts at around $15 a month flat with no commission taken, and Referral Hero, which also offers flat monthly pricing.
Another solid option is Conjured Referrals, which has a flat monthly fee and gives you good control over voucher restrictions, including excluding sale items and stacking with other offers.
For the voucher restrictions, you need to make sure you check that feature specifically before committing to any app, as it varies. Most good referral apps let you create a unique discount code as the reward, and Shopify discount codes already allow you to restrict usage to full price items only and prevent combining with other offers.
