Are you assigning the template to the pages you want it to show on? Like this:
If you want to revert back to the default template, change your pages to use “Default page” template.
Additionally, you can completely remove a template by going to:
Themes>Edit Code>Templates>The Template You Want To Delete>Click “X” icon>Save
