Register for top level domain in original account

Good evening!

In the process of setting up my website and Google merchant account I can not figure out how to register for top level domain in my original account. My website is verified but I can’t claim it. I have searched this specific topic but the answers are from 2020 and not relevant. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

In GMC > gear icon > business information > website

Enter your top level domain for example https://example.com

Then you should be able to click on verify and claim.

If you get a warning already claimed, make sure you don’t have any other accounts, and close them down first.

Does that not work, what error do you get?
