I am currently based in the UK and am in the process of setting up my online shop, I understand I have to set my shopify payments up to a UK bank account (as this is where I am currently based) and receive payments in GBP. However, at somepoint next year I will be returning to live in Australia, what are the implications of this move? Can I easily change my account settings and linked bank account etc? I know you can change the currency you sell in but I thought I read somewhere that once you accept your first payment, you cannot change the currency you are paid out?
Is there anything else I should be aware of setting it up in the UK but ultimately running the business in the longer term from Australia?

The best way to approach this would be to setup where you’re based now in the UK and when you move next year to contact our support team who can look into making any necessary changes for you based on your move for your account. It wouldn’t be a complicated switch from our team on that end. The link to login and speak to our support team about this can be found here.
As @hardik355 touched on also, because you’d be based in the UK and Australia both of which are eligible for Shopify Payments (SP), you would be eligible to use SP as your payment gateway which would have the multi currency feature enabling you to still sell in both GBP and AUD regardless of where you’re based. But if you are set up in the UK, you would get paid in GBP and then if you moved to Australia and switched your account up, you would get paid out in AUD, which is something to be aware of.
