Hi
ISSUE: I would like the header (or footer/header but primarily the header) to be HIDDEN but also have a cart (slide out) working on my website.
I use the studio theme in Shopify.
I have a third app, E-composer, and I have created my whole website through it. When publishing the website you can choose to: “hide Shopify footer/header” or “show Shopify footer/header” and I want to choose HIDE. This because I created my own header/footer.
The issue now is that E-composer build all their products from Shopify and the theme I have there. When I choose to hide the Shopify header (where the cart is in Shopify) the website looks good - just like I want it - but no cart! If I choose to show the Shopify header when publishing the website in E-composer the cart is shown, but I also have horrible header that I do NOT want (also looks ridiculous with one header above the other).
Anyway around this? Magic CSS-code? Please, please, please. E-composer customer service don’t seem to skilled.. (as me :p)
Can you enable the header first for me to check the cart functionality?

Would you like me to enable the cart in the Shopify theme or in one of the templates I have built in E-composer? (Like, a product page or similar).
Wherever you want the cart to appear @amouseytale

I have enable the header here.
I attached a print screen, red marked area is the one I don’t want shown. Blue marked circles I still want to keep.
Hey @amouseytale ,
Go to your theme’s “Edit Code” Option, then in the search bar type “theme.liquid”
Below the tag “” tag paste the following. Screenshot attached for reference.
Screenshot is for reference only, the correct code to paste is the one shown above.

This worked and you are now officially the angel of day! Where can I post a review?
My next “issue” is that I would like the cart to be a slide out cart, is this possible or am I taking my requests to far?
Haha I don’t think there’s a review system here. You can buy me a coffee if you want to, link’s below in my signature. But that’s upto you.
The slide out cart should be included in the theme, there’s no small snippet I can give you for that, there’s ton of things that need to be done for the slide out cart functionality if it’s not available in the theme.
Normally it’s in the Theme Settings → Cart → Cart Type (‘Drawer’)

Of course I will buy a coffee - after endless discussions on a customer service chat with E-composer you gave a 2 minutes fixing solution.
I figure that would be a bigger request, unfortunately my theme don’t have that option. I am guessing you are more skilled than me so I would like to ask your opinion: if I use a third app for this feature, will it destroy the code settings you helped me add? I could also change the theme to one that have this cart slide out option, but would that change the look of my website anyhow? I am building my websites layout 100% in E-composer so I don’t really keep any appearance settings visible from Shopify’s theme. I just have it to have a base for the website/shop. So I guess I am asking if you know it would be better to use a third part app for the slide out cart, or to change theme?
Well, I’ve never used E-composer before, but the original header from your site seems to be coming from your studio theme instead of the E-composer part that you’ve built. The way I see it, it works in a way where shopify provides the header and the E-composer does the rest of the pages.
Are you not able to go to the normal Shopify Customize option and see the Cart setting there? You can just enable the drawer part here and not touch the rest.
The thing with apps is that it’s built differently by everyone who built it, so it really depends on how they built it. Will it destroy it? Maybe, but if you uninstall it, it’ll come back to how it was. But also, if you install something and something breaks, just drop me a message here and let me take a look first, then I’ll check and see if it can be saved, I’m active here almost everyday.

Ended up with a cart drawer from a third party app, you can change some layout settings with the app but not the background colour of the drawer.
So that’s it, I want to change the background colour from white to this colour: #DCE9E8
I’m not more stupid than knowing you change this in the CSS editor, but appears it differ from theme to theme where you do it in the coding. Exchange coffee for help?
Hey @amouseytale
Try this and see. Instructions are the same, but i’ll paste it here again just to make it easier.
Go to your theme’s “Edit Code” Option, then in the search bar type “theme.liquid”
Below the tag “” tag paste the following. Screenshot attached for reference.

The app customer actually ended up doing the colour change for me so all is well. I did realize that when I followed the instructions of yours to hide header (but have cart- and search symbol visible) it’s all great on desktop but on mobile the search symbol wont shown, only the cart. Any suggestions?
Can you add this code as well, same instructions, right below the tags

Of course it worked like a charm.
Another code help for coffee:
See attached print, is it possible to change colour of this two parts trough code?
Colour for what is marked pink in photo: #bd9b9c
Colour for what is marked yellow in photo: #FFFAED
Should this part remain in the “blue” color when nothing is entered in the search?
If so, use this code
If it should be #bd9b9c even without searching, then use this code

Is it possible to have this area also yellow? (I tried the second of your suggestions).
Yeah, actually I missed that one
Yayy! I bought you 5 coffee - thank you so much for all the help! I wish you worked in some kind of home page customer service!
You are generous. Well, not every customer will be like you
