Remove image container space from collection banner

Topic summary

Goal: remove the empty image container space in the collection banner when no image is present, and fine-tune line spacing between the title and body text.

Progress: Text alignment was adjusted via sections/component-collection-hero.css. The image container div was identified in main-collection-banner.liquid, but removing or conditionally hiding it and adjusting title–body spacing remains unresolved.

Theme context: Studio theme (reported similar to Dawn). The store is in draft mode, not live.

Requests: Responders asked for the page URL (and password if applicable) to provide theme-specific code guidance.

Additional input: Another participant reported the same issue and asked if a solution was found.

Artifacts: A screenshot is central, showing blank space to the right of the banner text when no image exists.

Key terms: CSS controls styling; Liquid is Shopify’s templating language; collection banner is the header section on collection pages.

Status: No solution shared yet; action pending access to the draft URL for targeted code fixes; discussion remains open.

Hi, I’m trying to adjust the line spacing between the title and body texts, and remove the image container in the collection banner.

When there is no image, it leaves a blank space to the right of the title and text (see image).

I was able to align the text by going to sections→component-collection-hero.css but can’t seem to make the image container go away, and adjust the distance between the title and body text.

I looked in main-collection-banner.liquid, found the image container div tag but can’t/don’t know how to remove the image container/blank space.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the prompt replies. I forgot to mention the theme is Studio, which I heard is similar to Dawn theme.

The theme is not live yet, its still in draft mode.

I have this very same problem. Did you find a solution at all? Thank you.
