I want to remove some pages , collection and products from Sitemap URL: /sitemap.xml
But i dont want to use this method suggested everywhere which says use : seo.hidden metafield: with definatin 1
because it set no index.
I want my pages, collection and products just to be removed from sitemap.xml not from Google . it should be set to default index.
Let me know if there is a way.

To my knowledge what you are asking for is not possible. It might be able to achieve your desired result from another angle if you share what you are hoping to accomplish with those changes.
sitemap.xml is a helpful way for Google to index your site. Why would you want URLs removed from the sitemap.xml, but still indexed by Google
