This is very strange - just started designing our website on Shopify since moving from another platform where we’ve been for many years.
We only ship within the U.S. so I am setting up shipping zones, etc. I am able to select just the U.S. to show on the shipping rate calculator on the cart page. Issue is I have not selected U.S. territories to show on the drop down - yet they do and frankly no way to get rid of them from showing.
What’s even more bizarre is Shopify has some actual small countries set as US states? Why does Shopify list 62 US states? OK I get the territories but look at this list American Somoa, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, North Mariana Islands, Palau, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Armed Forces Americas, Armed Forces Europe, Armed Forces Pacific.
Some of these are NOT even U.S. territories - they are actual countries. Palau, officially the Republic of Palau and historically Belau, Palaos or Pelew, is an island country and microstate in the western Pacific. The nation has approximately 340 islands and connects the western chain of the Caroline Islands with parts of the Federated States of Micronesia.
So I simply do not select the territories or other names above and doesn’t matter - drop down rate calculator won’t remove them!
How can we get these removed as I don’t have any of them checked as far as calculating rates - doesn’t matter as they continue to show in the drop down! This makes us look like idiots and I can already hear our customers now.
Please let me know how to get these from showing in our shopping cart dropdown in the cart and checkout.
Thanks!
