My business bought out one of the directors. I am on the basic shopify plan. How do i remove the previous director from the company details in shopify so i can apply for shopify capital?

- Navigate to Settings > Users and permissions
- Check who is listed as the Store owner (top-level account)
- If the previous director is still the owner, they must transfer ownership:
- Click Transfer ownership
- Enter the new owner’s email
- New owner accepts the transfer
- Once ownership is transferred, the new owner can manage business details and apply for Shopify Capital
Status: The issue requires action from whoever currently holds the store owner account. Authorization or manual operation by the current owner is necessary to complete the transfer.

Only the store owner account can apply for Shopify Capital. If the previous director is still listed as the owner:
Go to Settings > Users and permissions.
Check the Store owner (the top-level account).
If you are not the owner, you need the current owner to transfer ownership to your account:

Click Transfer ownership → enter your email → accept the transfer.

Once you are the owner, you can manage business details and apply for Shopify Capital.
This needs to be managed by the owner of your store. If you are not the owner of a Shopify store, it needs authorization or owner’s manual operation.
