Removing Fade-In effect from Boundless theme Slider (Homepage)

So with Boundless theme you get a slideshow on your homepage, when you first load the page, the slideshow has a fade effect, from grey to image.

How can I remove this effect? It’s slowing down me Google Page Speed’s ‘First Contentful Paint’

Essentially this is not slowing down your website - it’s simply putting up a placeholder while the slider loads. Removing this would not assist with performance by any means.

What is delaying the first contentful paint is bloat from the website per se, typically images that are not being lazy loaded and/or apps.
