I want my customers to reserve a product on my site by clicking on a button on the product page. After clicking this button, they and myself should get an email, which contains all details they normally would get by completing the standard checkout. Basically there is no checkout, shop or cart, but just this single button. Is something like this possible?

This is not possible, you must go through the checkout process. If you want to implement subscriptions, you can use the Seal Subscriptions app. After a customer subscribes, you can send them emails at regular intervals. The customer can click the checkout button in the email to jump directly to the checkout page.
